Sanderlings, (small sandpipers) known for thierblack beaks are fascinating to watch as they scurry back and forth on coastal shorelines. They try to avoid the waves while hunting for small mollusks, sand crabs and marine worms in the sand. I love to just sit on the beach and watch them run about.
